Terms of use
The rules, in as few of them as possible.
Updated August 30, 2026
Who you are dealing with
ФОП Галас Юрій Володимирович (Halas Yurii Volodymyrovych, sole proprietor), contactable at support@cantle.app.
Your license
You may use Cantle on devices you own or control, for yourself. You may not resell it, take it apart to rebuild it elsewhere, or use it to break the law or to spoil the game for other players.
Cantle itself stays ours: the app, the name, the artwork and the boards it generates. Playing it does not transfer any of that to you.
Copies from the App Store are also covered by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which prevails over these terms wherever the two disagree. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Your account
An account is created on your device without an email address or a password. That has a consequence worth stating plainly: whoever holds the device holds the account, and if you lose the device without the account being linked anywhere, we have no way to prove it was yours.
Your display name appears on the daily leaderboard. Keep it something you would not mind other players seeing. We may change or remove a name that is abusive, impersonates someone, or is reported and found to break this rule.
You must be at least 13 to hold an account, or older where the law you live under requires it.
Fair play
Leaderboards only mean something if the times on them are real. Modifying the app, automating play, or submitting results the game did not produce will get those results removed, and can get the account closed. We check submissions for this.
Where that happens, an account can be suspended: for a set period, or permanently if the same thing keeps happening. We tell you why, and how long it lasts. If you think we got it wrong, write to support@cantle.app and a person will look at it again. A suspension never blocks you from deleting your account and your data, which stays available throughout.
Purchases
Everything you buy is bought through Apple or Google. The price is shown before you confirm, and it varies by country and can change over time. Items in the game have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
Cantle Pro
Pro is a subscription, sold by the month or by the year. It renews automatically at the end of each period, and your Apple or Google account is charged within 24 hours before the new period begins, at the price shown for that period at the time.
You can cancel at any time in your Apple or Google account settings, and canceling at least 24 hours before a period ends stops the next charge. Canceling does not cut short the period you have already paid for: Pro stays on until it runs out. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. The subscription lives in your store account, not in the app.
If we ever raise the price, the store tells you before the renewal that would charge it, and an increase never applies to a period you have already paid for.
One-time purchases
Node styles, symbol styles and wallpapers are bought once and are not subscriptions. They do not renew, and nothing recurring is charged for them.
Owning a cosmetic and subscribing to Pro are separate things: Pro does not include the one-time items, and buying those does not give you Pro.
Changing device
Purchases follow your Cantle account rather than the shop you bought them in. Reinstalling on the same phone restores them from Apple or Google directly. Moving to a different phone, including one on the other platform, is done with a recovery code from the old device, and your subscription and anything you bought outright come with it.
Billing stays where it started. A subscription bought on an iPhone is canceled, renewed and refunded in your Apple account even when you are playing on Android, because that is the only account it was ever charged to.
Consumers in the European Union
You normally have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance contract. Buying digital content that is delivered immediately means asking us to start straight away, and you accept that the right of withdrawal ends once delivery has begun. This does not touch your other statutory rights.
If we cannot settle something between us, you can take it to a consumer dispute resolution body in your own country; the European Commission keeps the list of them. The EU’s Online Dispute Resolution platform, which this clause used to point at, closed on July 20, 2025.
Consumers in Ukraine
Your rights under the Law of Ukraine “On Consumer Rights Protection” apply in full and are not narrowed by anything here.
If the service stops
Cantle needs a server for leaderboards, friends and daily puzzles. We may change or discontinue parts of it.
If we ever shut the server down for good, we will say so in the app at least 90 days beforehand. From the day of that announcement nothing renews and no new subscription is sold. The server then stays up until the last period anyone has already paid for has run out, so nobody loses time they paid for and nobody has to chase a refund to get it back.
Practice does not use the server: it builds its boards on your device, and it keeps working afterwards, as does anything you bought outright, for as long as the app itself runs on your phone. What stops is what needs the server: the daily puzzle, streaks, leaderboards, friends and duels.
What we cannot promise is that the app runs forever. Phone operating systems change, and an app nobody updates eventually stops installing. That is outside our control, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
Liability
Cantle is a puzzle game. We run it carefully, but we do not promise that the server is always up, that a daily board always arrives on time, or that the app is free of faults.
Some things cannot be limited by a clause like this one, and we do not try to: liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and anything else the law where you live does not permit to be excluded. Nothing in this section touches your rights as a consumer.
Beyond that, where our liability can be limited, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before whatever went wrong. If you have paid us nothing, that figure is nothing. That is the honest consequence of a game that is free to play.
We are not liable for lost progress, a lost streak or a lost leaderboard position beyond that limit. We keep backups and we restore what we can, but a puzzle record is not something anyone can insure.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine, where Cantle is made and where the seller is registered.
If you are a consumer, that choice does not take away the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in. Where your own law gives you a right these terms do not, you keep it, and you may bring a claim in your own courts. For consumers in the European Union the dispute resolution bodies linked above are open as well.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them stand.
Changes to these terms
These terms will change: a new mode, a shop that is not open yet, a price that moves. When they do we update the date at the top, and for anything that affects what you have already paid for or what you are allowed to do, we say so in the app before it takes effect rather than after.
Carrying on playing after a change means the new terms apply. If you would rather not accept one, you can stop playing and, if the change concerns something you bought, ask us about it at support@cantle.app.
